The Showtime textiles market is all about fabrics that furniture buyers select to cover the chairs, sofas and cushions that will appear at the next High Point furniture market. Fabrics debuting at the just-past December Showtime will be found on furniture-company showroom floors in April, of next year, and available to consumers at retail about six months after. At the recent event, fabric designs with a distinctly Boho vibe were in the earliest stages of a revival. Lush color, intricate medallions, detail-filled stripes and geometrics, elaborate paisleys and Jacobean designs were the hallmarks. What made some of them them so interesting was a tendency toward patchwork layouts, both printed and woven, that made patterns even busier and more complex.
