RBI_1894 The first-ever Guimarães Home Fashion Week took place in Guimarães, Portugal in late June. It featured home-textiles products from 29 manufacturers that call this region home.

Every company exhibiting at this event exuded a passion for textiles. They talked about the high quality towels, bathmats, robes, throws, curtails, kitchen towels, table linens, aprons quilts, sheets and pillow shams produced at their factories and shipped to retailers around the globe.

Some companies also revealed their color trends, including a new penchant for warmth that was visible in a number of color lines.

Domingos de Sousa, for example, showed off a group of earthy colors that they see as on-trend. Texteis Leiper agreed that earthy references—like the natural color of cotton and khaki-brown tones with a green cast—are directional. Mundotextil’s collection included linen-influenced mid-tones. Almeida displayed towels in saturated olive green. LASA’s mid-tone clay, beige and green towels and bathrobes are made of organic cotton.

Of course, texture was an unmistakable partner in the earthy-color story. It enhanced each item via yarn length, weave effects, stone-washed finishing and details like stitching and fringes that are increasingly visible on trend-right products.

Here are a few of the earthy colors seen at Guimarães Home Fashion Week
