Orange is a color that can get noticed fast when it's intense and bright. But going forward, it will get noticed in tamer personalities as a trend statement.
That's because a preference for clay colors—solid and plain or filled with texture—is emerging.
Some of the best new clay tones are saturated, terra-cotta inspired hues that reinforce the advance of the material of the same name in porcelain and ceramic. Others go lighter and pinker, referencing an emerging interest in palettes and patterns relating to the American West. Both types confirm that clay is on the cusp of something significant, starting in 2018 and becoming stronger moving into 2019.
