Pierre Frey teamed up with 200-year old tableware maker Faiencerie de Gien to create a dinnerware pattern inspired by Frey’s new Le Jardin du Palais wallcovering and fabric. Gien’s new Jardin du Palais collection debuted at the Gien showroom on the Left Bank. It was unveiled during January’s Paris Deco Off, an event that bills itself at “The Rendezvous of International Interior Designers and Decoration Editors.”
Salad, dinner and dessert plates in this collection depict imagery from a lush Persian landscape. Each version is variously filled with gazelles, tigers, squirrels, flamingos and flora, one dear to the Safavid dynasty of the 16th century. Vivid colors enhance designs that are so rich in detail and in color.
